What is a Silent Retreat?

A silent retreat is a unique and transformative experience in which participants immerse themselves in a quiet, distraction-free environment, with the goal of reconnecting with their inner world and achieving a higher level of self-knowledge and peace of mind.

During a silent retreat, participants abstain voluntarily from talking and verbally communicating with others. This does not mean that it is a solitary event; rather, there’s a big emphasis on bonding without words – really feeling the presence of yourself and everything around you.

By eliminating external distractions, participants can focus on their own presence and the present moment.

Who will accompany You in Your Silence?

Fanny González and Margherita Barbieri are two women whose lives are dedicated to the teaching and practice of yoga and meditation, with a deep commitment to wellness and the search for inner balance.

Fanny, a native of Lanzarote, has enriched her teaching with experiences lived in Barcelona, where she absorbed the energy of the city before returning to her native island to open her own yoga center. Her practice deepens with art therapy, especially in the Jungian and Gestalt traditions, offering a holistic approach that integrates body, mind and spirit.

Margherita, from the south of Italy, has woven her path through global experience, living in Thailand where she undertook in the hospitality sector and immersed herself in local spirituality. Now based in the Canary Islands, she shares her passion for yoga and meditation, infusing her classes with the wisdom and cultural influences of her travels.

Both teachers are dedicated to guiding their students on a journey of self-knowledge, connection and self-love, using their international background and love of practice to inspire and educate those around them.

Fanny with her creative and reflective approach, and Margherita with her global and adaptive perspective, offer an integrated and enriching approach to yoga and wellness.

What is the duration of the retreat, and what are the exact dates?

The retreat will last 4 days and 3 nights from Thursday, June 13 to Sunday, June 16. Check-in will be from 5 p.m. on Thursday and check-out by 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Is it possible to participate for only two nights from Friday to Sunday?

It is possible to participate for only two nights, from Friday to Sunday. The cost of the package will be reduced. We have an even more limited number of places available with this option.

Until when is possible to book?

You can book until the 20th of April.

What is NOT included in the price?

It is NOT included in the price: Air or sea transport to Lanzarote, transportation to and from the airport, Travel insurance.

Where is the retreat located, and what kind of accommodation is provided?

This retreat takes place in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The resort where we will be staying, Finca Marisa offers private double and twin rooms (shared) or private rooms (single use).

What is the daily schedule during the retreat?

The schedule includes daily morning yoga practice, meditation sessions, workshops, and evening yoga practices. There is also free time allocated in the afternoon for participants to relax or explore the surroundings on their own.

What kind of meals are provided, and are they suitable for vegetarians/vegans?

There will be three daily meals are included prepared from the talented chef Mona Las Palmas. Her food is vegan (100% plant-based). What she offers goes beyond nutrition; it is an expression of her commitment to holistic wellness.

Who are the instructors, and what are their backgrounds?

The retreat will be led by two instructors, Fanny González and Margherita Babieri.

Fanny González is a native of Lanzarote who has enriched her teaching with experiences in Barcelona. She combines her yoga teaching with art therapy, especially in the Jungian and Gestalt traditions, offering a holistic approach that integrates body, mind, and spirit.

What type of yoga and meditation practices will be offered?

The Silent Retreat in Lanzarote offers a variety of yoga and meditation practices:

  1. Morning Yoga Practice: The day starts with a gentle 90-minute Vinyasa yoga session. Vinyasa is a flowing style of yoga that links breath with movement, promoting flexibility, strength, and mindfulness.
  2. Meditation: Daily meditation sessions are held in the morning and optionally in the evening. These sessions aim to help participants cultivate a sense of presence, reduce stress and anxiety, and connect with their inner selves.
  3. Evening Yoga Practice: In the evenings, more meditative yoga practices are offered, such as Yin Yoga (A slower-paced style of yoga that involves holding passive poses for longer periods, targeting the deep connective tissues and promoting relaxation) and Yoga Nidra (also known as “yogic sleep,” this practice is done lying down and involves a guided meditation that promotes deep relaxation and restoration).
  4. Workshops: The retreat also includes daily workshops designed to unleash creativity and promote introspection, such as art therapy and meditative writing.
  5. Sound baths to harmonise your body and mind;

These practices are suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners, and are designed to help participants connect with their bodies, minds, and inner selves in a peaceful, supportive environment.

Is the retreat suitable for beginners, or do I need prior yoga experience?

Is travel insurance recommended or required for attending the retreat?

Yes, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, and other potential unforeseen events.

How do I get to Lanzarote?

Lanzarote is accessible by air from most major airports. We recommend booking flights to Lanzarote Airport (ACE). Further details on transportation from the airport to the retreat location will be provided upon registration. The transfer from the airport is NOT included.

What is the cancellation policy, and can I get a refund if I need to cancel my booking?

The deposit is refundable until April 20. After this date, the deposit is non-refundable. The second part of the payment must be paid one month prior to arrival.

What should I bring with me to the retreat?

You should bring: Comfortable closed-toe walking shoes, Flip-flops for the pool, Sunscreen, Light clothing that covers the body, Swimsuit or bikini, Sun hat or cap, Scarf or coat for the evening time,  Notebook and pen for writing, Yoga mat (if you don’t have one let us know), Sunglasses, Comfortable clothes for yoga practice.

Is transportation to and from the retreat location included in the price?

No, transportation to and from the retreat location is NOT included in the price. However, we will help you sharing some contact numbers.

Can I come alone, or do I need to bring someone?

You are welcome to come alone and meet new people or bring a friend or partner. Our retreat is designed to be a supportive community space for everyone.

Is there free time during the retreat to explore the surroundings or relax on my own?

Yes, you will have some free time every day to relax by your own.

Is there a maximum number of participants for the retreat?

Yes, there is a maximum number so spots are limited.

How can I register for the retreat, and what is the booking process?

You can reserve your spot by paying the deposit through our website. This deposit is part of the total retreat cost and secures your place in the retreat. The second part of the payment must be paid one month prior to arrival. After paying your deposit we will contact to organise together the choice of the room.
